Right at the heart of Bayer’s societal engagement are people who work to sustainably improve the lives of their fellow citizens in the fields of education and science, health, nutrition, and social innovations. Another area of funding is sports and culture. However, our sponsorship of professional soccer teams is not part of the nonprofit support we offer.
Through globally operating corporate foundations the Bayer Group provides funding for leading-edge research, talented individuals, and innovative educational and social projects. In 2018 (including the newly acquired crop science business) Bayer provided around €66m for nonprofit projects and activities worldwide. These funds enable us to contribute to improving the quality of life in the areas around our sites worldwide, and to solving social challenges. Analogous to its social activities, Bayer also bases its societal engagement on innovation and a pioneering spirit.
Our societal engagement is focused on the following fields of action:
With the Bayer Fund (formerly known as the Monsanto Fund) we provide funding for projects and initiatives in the fields of community development, food and nutrition, education, and disaster aid.
